Stage 03 / Liftoff / Paid ads
Paid ads in Cyprus, measured by cost per lead
Google Ads catches people already searching for what you sell. Meta Ads creates demand where there was none. We run both, in Greek and English, and report them in one unit: what a lead costs and what it returns.
Stage 03 / Liftoff / What we measure
- Cost per lead
- Ad spend divided by qualified enquiries, by campaign, language and city. The number that decides the budget.
- ROAS
- Revenue from ads divided by ad spend, where revenue is tracked: shops, bookings, quotes with values.
- Conversion rate
- Leads divided by clicks. Tells us whether the ad, the audience or the landing page is the weak link.
- Search share
- How often your ad shows for the queries that matter, so you know what a bigger budget would buy.
Paid ads are the fast lane. A campaign can be live in a week and bringing enquiries the same day. That speed is also the risk: an advertising agency can spend your budget on clicks that never become customers and call it reach. We set up conversion tracking before the first euro is spent, so every campaign is judged on leads and revenue, not on clicks.
The two platforms do different jobs. Google Ads (search, plus Maps and YouTube where they fit) reaches the plumber searcher in Larnaca at the moment the pipe bursts. Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) reaches the Limassol couple who did not know they wanted a villa weekend until they saw it. Most Cyprus businesses need some of each. The flight check tells you the split.
Google Ads in Cyprus
Search campaigns are built from the same Greek and English query map we use for SEO. Each ad group targets one intent, in one language, with an ad and a landing page that say the same thing. Greek searches get Greek ads and Greek pages. English searches from expats and visitors get English ones. Mixed campaigns waste money on both.
We use exact and phrase match with a maintained negative list, because Cyprus volumes are small and a broad match campaign will happily spend your budget in Greece or on job seekers. Location targeting is set to the cities and radius you actually serve. Bids are set to a target cost per lead, and we move them weekly based on what closed, not what clicked.
Performance Max and Shopping campaigns are used for ecommerce and for businesses with a strong product feed. Local campaigns push your Google Business Profile for map searches. YouTube is used sparingly, for retargeting and for tourism.
Meta Ads in Cyprus
Facebook and Instagram remain the daily habit for a large share of Cyprus, in both languages. Meta Ads work when the creative is specific: a real photo of the villa, the dentist explaining a treatment in twenty seconds, the price of the service in the first line. Stock imagery and generic copy are the reason most Cyprus Meta campaigns fail.
We build audiences from your customer list and website visitors first, then look alike and interest audiences from there. Retargeting people who visited a service page but did not enquire is usually the cheapest lead in the account. For tourism businesses we target travellers in the UK, Germany, Israel and the Nordics in the booking window, months before they land at Larnaca or Paphos.
Creative comes from your social media output where we run it: the posts that earned saves and shares become the ads. It is cheaper than producing creative separately and it has already been tested.
Tracking first, always
Before a campaign goes live we set up GA4, Google Ads conversion tracking, the Meta pixel and conversions API, call tracking and form tracking. Leads land in a sheet or your CRM with their source. Where the sale happens offline (most Cyprus service businesses) we import closed deals back into the platforms so bidding learns from real customers, not just enquiries.
If your site cannot support this, or loads too slowly to convert, we say so in the flight check and build the landing pages or the site first. Ads on a slow site with no tracking are money out of the window. See web design for what that costs.
What Google Ads cost in Cyprus
Two costs. The first is what you pay Google or Meta per click, which varies by industry. Many local services see clicks well under a euro in Greek. Property, finance and legal terms in English can cost several euros and more. The second is a management fee for running the account, which we quote in writing after the flight check.
There is no minimum budget, but below a few hundred euros a month the data is too thin to learn from, and the management fee outweighs the spend. We would rather tell you to start with SEO or a better site than take a fee for an account that cannot work. For a longer walk through of budgets, read what Google Ads cost in Cyprus.
Cyprus specifics
- Two languages, two sets of campaigns, one readout. Greek and English are never mixed in an ad group.
- Small volumes. Exact match, tight negatives and patience beat broad match and automated everything.
- Seasonality. Tourism accounts scale up in spring, peak in July and August and drop in November. Budgets follow the calendar.
- Cross border waste. Location settings and language settings are checked so Cyprus budgets do not leak into Greece.
- Offline sales. Most leads close by phone or in person, so call tracking and offline conversion import are standard, not extras.
- Four cities. Bids and copy can differ by city; a Nicosia law firm and a Paphos car hire have different customers and different click prices.

Questions about google ads and meta ads in Cyprus
01How much do Google Ads cost in Cyprus?
What you pay per click depends on your industry and language: under a euro for many Greek local service terms, several euros for English property, finance and legal terms. Our management fee is separate and quoted in writing after the free flight check.
02Google Ads or Meta Ads for my business?
Google Ads when people already search for what you sell. Meta Ads when you need to create demand, show something visual or reach tourists before they travel. Most businesses run both, with Google catching demand and Meta building it and retargeting.
03Is there a minimum ad budget?
No fixed minimum, but below a few hundred euros a month the data is too thin to optimise and our fee would not be good value. We will say so and suggest SEO or a better site first.
04Do I keep my ad accounts?
Yes. Campaigns are built in accounts you own. If we part ways, everything stays with you, including the conversion tracking.
05How quickly will I see leads?
Search campaigns usually bring the first enquiries within days of going live. Meta campaigns take one to two weeks to find their audience. Cost per lead improves over the first two to three months as the account learns from real customers.
06Do you run TikTok ads in Cyprus?
Where the audience fits, yes, usually for hospitality, retail and events aimed at under 30s. We start with Google and Meta because they carry the buying intent, and add TikTok when the creative and the budget support it.
